We started our day by eating the baguette we had bought the previous day at the bakery next to our RER station of Cachan ( where our apartment was).
Our first stop was the Pantheon, a former church which is currently a museum and the burial place of a lot of famous French people. Some of the people that are buried there are: Louis Braille, Marie and Pierre Curie, Voltaire, Victor Hugo, Jean-Jacques Rousseau, Jean Moulin(French resistance WOII) and a few people that have done things in favor of the French Revolution
The building was very nice and contained several paintings and statues, there were also a few books by Victor Hugo and an interactive screen on which one could view the stories behind all the paintings and statues.
After the Pantheon and a lot of walking and wondering around because Google Maps wasn’t really working because of my broken GPS,
We finally found Musée d’Orsay which is a beautiful Museum with lots of art by various famous artists such as VanGogh, Manet, Gaugin, Monet and several others.
2 paintings by van Gogh I already knew quite well were the following
Then we went to the Champ de Mars, a large park close to the Eiffel Tower. It was quite nice, and it was a good spot to take a pictures of us in front of the Eiffel Tower.
Before we were able to get underneath the Eiffel Tower, we had to go to the security and luckily there wasn’t a long line. We didn’t go up the Eiffel Tower since we were tired and it was late. But the view from underneath was lovely as well . There were a few places where you could buy food, but nothing very grand (or atleast under the Eiffel Tower, there are some great restaurants near the Eiffel Tower).
We were still a bit hungry afterwards, so we went to find a restaurant we had previously seen in a video. Sadly the restaurant was nowhere to be found so we ate in another restaurant and ate pizza.
After dinner we traveled back to our airbnb and went to bed
